Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT-Mobitel), a government fixed and wireless operator, has announced ambitious intentions to considerably grow its optical network infrastructure as part of its million fiber initiative. The initiative, according to SLT-Mobitel, will join all people in every districts to high-speed, fiber-based internet, allowing them to “access the online service age without hindrance.”
SLT-Mobitel expects to achieve the architecture of establishing one 1,000,000 fiber connections in a’record period,’ with the goal of yet more empowering one million fiber users by the end of 2023. (including homes and businesses). Fiber internet access is quick. In Sri Lanka, fiber access now serves approximately 500,000 homes.
