The government denies the news that Sri Lanka Telecom will be sold to Lycamobile

The Sri Lankan government on November 22 moved to deny speculation in the press that it is holding or has held talks to sell Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT-Mobitel) to foreign investors, namely UK-based Lycamobile. and Fibire network to Adani Group. The SLT workers organized a protest rally against this proposed budget all last week. The President said that the government company will be sold due to long-term losses. However, a buyer has yet to be confirmed.
