Hutch has also started covering 5G. However, Airtel has set a record for the fastest 5G trial to date.

Airtel recently rolled out 4G coverage islandwide. At the 5G event, ookla performed a live demonstration of their speed, which was shown as Download 1904 Mbps and Upload 107 Mbps.
Speaking on the occasion, Airtel Lanka Managing Director and CEO Ashish Chandra said that the company hopes to provide a World Class Network to all citizens of the country at an affordable price.
